Privacy Policy
What we collect when you build a document, who else ever sees it, and how to make us delete it. Written to be specific enough to check.
Last updated 29 August 2026
1.Who this policy is from
Presentro is a document builder: you write a resume, cover letter, invitation or card, and we render and export it. This policy describes what we collect when you do that, why, and what you can make us do about it.
The controller of your personal data is KORLAGONDI VISHWANATH. You can reach us at support@presentro.com about anything on this page.
2.What we collect
Almost everything we hold is something you typed or uploaded. We do not buy data about you, and we do not enrich your account from other sources.
| Account details | Your email address, and your name if you give one. Passwords are stored only as a bcrypt hash — we cannot read yours, and neither can anyone who obtains the database. |
|---|---|
| Sign-in with Google or Microsoft | If you use one, we receive your email address, name and profile picture URL from that provider. We do not receive your password, and we do not get access to your mail, files or contacts. |
| Document content | Everything you put in a document: employment history, education, contact details, the text of a cover letter, guest names on an invitation, and any photo or logo you upload — including how you have cropped it. This is the most sensitive data we hold and it is why the rest of this policy exists. |
| Files you upload for import | A PDF or Word resume you upload is read for text, used to fill in a document, and the extracted text is not kept as a separate record. |
| Payment records | The amount, currency, status, and the order and payment identifiers our payment provider returns. Card numbers, UPI PINs and net-banking credentials are entered on the provider’s form and never reach our servers. |
| Export records | When you download a PDF we keep the generated file and a record of when it was made, so you can download it again within your access window without paying twice. |
| AI usage records | For each AI request: which feature you used, which model answered, how many tokens it cost, and whether it succeeded. The text sent and the text returned are not stored in this record. |
| Technical data | Your IP address is used to rate-limit sign-in, AI and export requests, and appears in server logs. Session cookies are described below. |
3.Why we are allowed to hold it
We process your data to provide the service you asked for — that is the contractual basis for your account, your documents and your payments. Where the law requires a different basis, ours are:
- Performance of a contract — creating your account, storing and rendering your documents, taking payment, and producing the file you bought.
- Legitimate interests — rate limiting and server logs, which exist to keep the service available and to stop abuse; and AI usage records, which exist so we can attribute cost and notice when quality changes.
- Legal obligation — keeping payment and tax records for as long as the law requires, which is why a deleted account can leave a financial record behind (see retention, below).
- Your instruction — publishing a document to a public link, or sending a copy to your email, both happen only when you ask for them and stop when you say so.
4.What happens when you use an AI feature
Nothing is sent to an AI model unless you press a button that says it will be. Autosave, template switching, previewing and exporting involve no AI at all.
When you do use one — importing a resume, improving a summary, writing a cover letter’s paragraphs, scoring a resume against a job posting — the relevant text from that document is sent to our AI provider (currently Anthropic) over an encrypted connection, and the answer comes back to you as a suggestion you accept or reject.
- We send the smallest amount of the document the feature needs, not your whole account.
- We do not send your email address, your name as an account identifier, your payment details, or any document other than the one you are working on.
- Our agreement with the provider does not permit your content to be used to train their models.
- We keep a record that the call happened and what it cost. We do not keep a copy of the text in that record.
Removing the background from an image is not an AI request in this sense. It runs a model inside your own browser: the photo is never uploaded to us or to anyone else for that step, and it works with the network off once the model has been fetched.
If you would rather no document text ever left our servers, the whole editor — every template, every section, the export — works without touching an AI feature.
6.Documents you publish
Your documents are private by default. Nobody else can see them, and they are never shown to other users.
Publishing a resume to a public link is the one action that changes this, and it is deliberate on your part: you choose the handle, and the page is then readable by anyone who has the URL and may be indexed by search engines. You can hide your contact details on the public version, and unpublishing takes the page down and releases the handle immediately — though a search engine may keep a cached copy for a while, which is outside our control.
8.How long we keep things
| Your documents | Until you delete them or delete your account. We do not expire documents you have not opened in a while. |
|---|---|
| Generated PDFs | Kept so you can re-download within your access window, and removed with the account. |
| Uploaded photos and logos | Until you replace or remove them, or delete the account. Replacing an image deletes the file it replaced. |
| Payment records | Retained after account deletion where tax and accounting law requires it. These records identify a transaction, not the contents of your documents. |
| Server logs | Short-lived, and kept only for diagnosing failures and abuse. |
9.Your rights, and how to use them
You can do most of this yourself, immediately, without asking us:
- See and correct your data — every document is editable in the app, and your name and email are on your account page.
- Delete everything — deleting your account from the account page is a real deletion. The account row, your documents, their version history, your entitlements and your uploaded files are removed. It is not a flag on a row that stays in the database, and it cannot be undone.
- Sign out everywhere — invalidates every session on every device at once, which is the right first move if you think someone else has your password.
- Take your data with you — export any document as a PDF, a Word file, or a public web page.
For anything you cannot do from the app — a copy of your data in machine readable form, a restriction on processing, or a complaint — write to support@presentro.com and we will respond within 48 hours.
10.How we protect it
- Passwords are stored as bcrypt hashes and are never recoverable, by us or by anyone with the database.
- Sessions live in httpOnly cookies, so no script running on the page can read them.
- Uploaded files are not on a public URL. Every read goes through an endpoint that checks you own the document first, so a leaked storage path is not a way in.
- Every database read for a document is scoped to its owner in the query itself, rather than filtered afterwards.
- Sign-in, AI, import and export requests are rate limited.
- Payment confirmations are verified by signature on our server. A forged confirmation is rejected.
No system is perfect. If you find a security problem, please tell us at support@presentro.com before disclosing it publicly, and we will work with you on a fix.
11.Children
Presentro is not intended for children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect their data. A student building a first resume should have a parent or guardian create and hold the account. If you believe a child has an account with us, write to support@presentro.com and we will remove it.
12.Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that affects what we collect or who we share it with, we will update the date at the top and tell account holders by email before it takes effect. Editorial corrections are made without notice.
